Literature Text

There are always roads that lead ever, ever on
From here to there, and back again

A journey without knowing the end

Over hills and mountains cold
From up on high, looking over valleys centuries old

A story has begun that can never be untold

Far off in the distance, trees grow mighty tall and fair
One can venture forth without the slightest care

But it is with caution that one should beware

The track which one might tread should grow faint and stop short
It’ll take a cunning mind to keep going forward without escort

Faint at heart, one shall not escape without an affliction of some sort

There are roads that lead ever, ever on
From here to there, and back again

A journey without knowing the end

Sometimes the road will grow ever winding, through wood and bog
Through thorny briar and out of fog

But to have hope is a rare thing, something that can’t be found under stone or log

The path set out before thee will become more treacherous as steps are left behind
And so will steeper be every climb

But out of shadow and out of danger, it is wonder you will find

There are always roads that lead ever, ever on
From here to there, and back again

A journey without knowing the end

Under moon and star, a darkling night
There is nothing more amazing of a sight

Venturing through black and dim, there is nothing to fear with a spirit so light

And although you may come before a foe of great dread
As all of us must once every now and then

Hold your valor taut, your sword arm straight, and cast down the enemy dead

And while it may be hard for thee to understand
Soon you will know that there is more beyond this land

So take this day to wander forth; don’t worry about counting sand

For there are always roads that lead ever, ever on
From here to there, and back again

I wish you a journey full of laughter and happiness without end.
Happy birthday, girlie! :D I know your birthday isn't for another 2 days, but I couldn't resist! I started this poem this morning (the 24th) and finished it just now (the 25th).

In the fashion of a poem that sounds like it came from Lord of the Rings (it was heavily influenced, but not from), I dedicate this poem to you so that if things seem "dim and black" and "you face a great foe", you will remember this poem and it'll lift your spirits.

So... HAPPY 22ND BIRTHDAY, :iconizzy-chan13:! :cake:

Sincerely,
your compadre in arms

Actually I know relatively little of Lord of the Rings, so you're safe there =]

But.. :tighthug: Thank you!
Here I am making connections between your poem and my life--
I usually don't disclose this information; I've been "wandering" more than usual and this is a good thing to see--
The bit about hope in the face of a great foe :) And how the path I'm taking will only become more treacherous if more of the same will keep on occuring in these times.

I'm almost divided. I want to be the mediator for everyone but I can't hold the burden alone--maybe that's my "perfectionist" side talking, eh heh...

Really, thanks so much  Hope to see you sometime soon~
